Who this is for. Administrators who set up or change AR Remittances. Only the SuperAdmin role can open and change the AR Remittances configuration.
Availability. Only where the system of record (SoR) is Workday. AR Remittances must be enabled for your organization. See Roles and Access.
Overview
You set up AR Remittances in the configuration of a SmartCustomer instance. The configuration is a short series of steps, shown in a step bar across the top of the page. You open it from SmartFlow Skills Management.
With AR Remittances as the only function, the configuration has three steps. They are Connection, Settings, and Save and Run. The Settings step holds every AR Remittances option. The other two steps pair the instance with Workday and a mailbox, and start it.
The choices you make here decide what the agent does with every remittance that reaches the mailbox.
The three steps
You take the steps in order. The following table lists what you do on each step and the article that describes it.

Connection |

You turn on AR Remittances, choose the file types, and choose how payments reach Workday. |

Save and Run |
You read any warning and start the instance. |
Steps for other functions
The step bar shows only the steps that your functions need. AR Collections and AR Helpdesk each add steps of their own. This guide does not cover those steps.
The following table shows which steps appear for each combination that includes AR Remittances. The steps are listed in the order the bar shows them.

On the Connection step, the bar lists all seven steps. On an existing instance, continuing from the Connection step shortens the bar to the steps of its saved functions. If you change the functions on the Settings step, the bar changes after you select Continue. On a new setup, the bar shortens after you continue from the Settings step.
Moving between steps
The step bar highlights the step you are on. To move to the next step, you select Continue. Selecting a later step in the bar does not open it.
Previous takes you back one step and keeps what you entered.
CANCEL, at the upper right, closes the configuration and returns you to SmartFlow Skills Management at once. No prompt appears, even when you have changed something. CANCEL discards the changes you have not run.
Saving and running
Your changes take effect when you complete the Save and Run step. Leaving the configuration before then discards them.
AR Remittances options
Every AR Remittances option sits on the Settings step, under Turn on AR Remittances. Two of the options have their own articles. The following table lists each option and what it decides.

Configuration in practice
- With AR Remittances as the only function, no step asks about customers. You enrol customers on the Customers page after the instance runs.
- For how enrolment affects writes without review, see Write to SoR.
- Each mailbox serves one instance. The Mailbox field leaves out mailboxes that another SmartCustomer or AR Helpdesk instance already uses. The ERP field still lists connections that running instances use.
- Clearing Turn on AR Remittances on a running instance stops remittance processing after you run the configuration. For the warning on the last step and what it says about the documents, see Save and Run.
