Overview
Use the AR Mapping page in SmartCustomer to view, search, filter, sort, edit, and delete saved AR Remittance Mappings.
Once a mapping is created, it appears in the AR Mapping list and can be maintained as customer remittance formats change over time.
Before You Begin
Make sure you are signed in to SmartCustomer and have selected the appropriate:
- ERP
- Entity
- Mailbox
Then open the AR Mapping page from the top navigation bar.

View Saved Mappings
The AR Mapping page displays a list of saved mappings.
The list includes the following columns:
Table 1. Mapping List Columns
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Mapping Name | The name assigned to the remittance mapping configuration. This helps identify and distinguish one mapping from another in the AR Mapping list. |
| Customer Name | The customer associated with the mapping. This indicates which customer’s remittance file format the mapping is configured for. |
| Status | The current state of the mapping. The status helps indicate whether the mapping is ready for use, still in progress, or needs review. |
Mapping Statuses
A mapping may display one of the following statuses:
Table 2. Mapping Statuses
| Status | Description |
|---|---|
| Active | The mapping is saved and available for use. |
| Draft | The mapping has been created but is not yet finalized. |
| Ready For Preview | The mapping has been configured enough to be reviewed in Preview before it is finalized or saved for use. |
| Duplicate File Upload | The uploaded sample file appears to duplicate a previously uploaded file or mapping attempt. |
| Pending | The mapping is still in progress or waiting for the next step before it can be completed. |
These statuses help you identify which mappings are ready for use, which still need review, and which may require corrective action.

Edit a Mapping
Edit a mapping when:
- a customer changes their remittance file format
- a worksheet layout changes
- a field was mapped incorrectly
- additional fields need to be captured
- preview results show that a correction is needed
To edit a mapping
- On the AR Mapping page, find the mapping in the list.
- Click Edit.
- Update the mapping as needed.
- Use Preview to validate the updated mapping.
- Save the changes.
When to edit instead of creating a new mapping
Edit an existing mapping when the customer is still using the same general remittance format and you only need to make adjustments.
Create a new mapping when the customer begins sending a meaningfully different format that should be maintained separately.

- which mappings already exist
- which customer a mapping belongs to
- whether the mapping is in Active, Draft, Ready For Preview, Duplicate File Upload, or Pending status
This is useful when deciding whether to create a new mapping, update an existing one, or review mappings that are not yet complete.
