Understanding Disputes Fields

Overview

The Disputes table in SmartCustomer (AR Collections) lists all invoices that have an active dispute. Each row represents a single disputed invoice, and the columns provide key information to help collections users track dispute status, amounts, and dates while coordinating resolution with customers.

Table 1. Understanding the Disputes Fields

Amount RemainingThe current outstanding balance on the invoice after applied payments, credit memos, and adjustments, including any portion still in dispute.
Disputed AmountThe amount of the invoice that is currently under dispute. Helps you understand the exposure related specifically to the dispute versus the total invoice balance.
Dispute DateThe date on which the dispute was recorded or created in the system. Used for tracking how long a dispute has been open and for dispute-related reporting.
Invoice DateThe date on which the invoice was originally issued. Used for aging, reporting, and understanding how long the invoice has been outstanding overall.

Currency Toggle: At the top right of the Disputes page, you can switch between Base and Foreign currency. This updates the display of monetary fields such as Invoice Amount, Amount Remaining, and Disputed Amount according to your selected currency view.
