Credit Memo Details

When you click a Credit Memo ID from the Credit Memos tab of AR Remittances (SmartCustomer), the Credit Memo Details page opens. This page shows header‑level information about the selected credit memo, including amounts, status, currency, and customer context.


Available Actions

From the Credit Memo Details page, you can:

  • Review high‑level information about the credit memo.

  • See how much of the credit memo has been applied and how much remains unapplied.

  • Identify the Customer, Entity, and currencies associated with the credit memo.

  • Navigate back to the Credit Memos list or to the Customer view as needed.

Tip: Use the Credit Memo Details page to confirm the remaining credit available for a customer before applying it to invoices or resolving disputes.

Note: The exact fields shown on the page may vary depending on your organization’s configuration.


Viewing Credit Memo Standard and Extended Fields

The Credit Memo Records card is divided into Standard Fields (top section) and Extended Fields (bottom section). Standard Fields always appear; Extended Fields are shown only if your organization has configured custom attributes.

Standard Fields

Typical standard fields on the Credit Memo Details page include:

Base Total AmountTotal amount of the credit memo expressed in your organization’s base (functional) currency.
DescriptionFree‑text description or memo for this credit memo. Displays -- when no description is provided.
Credit Memo DateThe date on which the credit memo was issued.
Applied AmountThe amount from this credit memo that has already been applied, shown in the credit memo (transaction) currency.
StatusThe current lifecycle state of the credit memo (for example, Unapplied, Partially Applied, Applied).
Credit Memo IDThe unique identifier of the credit memo. This is the same ID you click in the Credit Memos list to open this page.
TypeThe category or origin of the credit memo (for example, Internal).
Unapplied AmountThe remaining balance on the credit memo that has not yet been applied, shown in the credit memo (transaction) currency.
Base CurrencyThe base (functional) currency used by your organization for reporting.
Base Applied AmountThe portion of the credit memo that has been applied, expressed in base currency.
CurrencyThe transaction currency of the credit memo (for example, EUR).
Customer NameThe name of the customer associated with this credit memo.
EntityThe legal entity, company, or business unit that owns this credit memo.
Total AmountThe total amount of the credit memo in the transaction currency.
Base Unapplied AmountThe remaining unapplied balance on the credit memo, expressed in base currency.

Tip: Review Total Amount, Applied Amount, and Unapplied Amount together with the Base values to understand the full impact of the credit memo across currencies.


Extended Fields

The Extended Fields section shows any custom attributes configured for credit memos.

  • If no custom attributes exist, this section displays No Extended Fields.

Tip: Extended Fields can be used to store additional information such as reason codes, business segments, or integration references without changing your ERP schema.
