Toolbar Actions

Overview

Use the toolbar at the top‑right of the Payments tab in AR Remittances (SmartCustomer) to search, refine, configure, export, and change the currency view for payment records.

The toolbar includes:

  • Search Payments

  • Filter Payment Records

  • Customize Table Columns

  • Export Payments

  • Currency Toggle (Base vs Foreign)

1. Search Payments

Use the search box to quickly locate specific payments.

How to search:

  1. Go to the Payments tab in AR Remittances.

  2. Click in the Search field on the toolbar.

  3. Type a value such as:

    • Payment No

    • Customer Name

  4. The list updates to show only payments that match your search term.

  5. Clear the search text to return to the full (unfiltered) payment list.

2. Filter Payment Records

Use Filters to display only the payments that meet certain criteria (for example, high unapplied amounts or payments for a specific customer or entity).

How to filter payments:

  1. On the Payments page, click the Filter (funnel) icon on the toolbar.

  2. In the filter panel, choose a Column (for example, Payment No, Customer Name, Entity, Type, Status, Amount, Amount Applied, Amount Unapplied, Payment Date).

  3. Select an Operator (such as contains, equals, greater than, less than or equal, before, after).

  4. Enter the Value for the filter.

  5. Apply the filters to update the Payments list.

Remove individual filter rows or use Clear Filters (if available) to reset the view.

3. Customize Table Columns

Use Edit Columns to control which payment fields appear in the table and in what order.

How to customize columns:

  1. On the Payments page, click the Edit Columns (column) icon on the toolbar.

  2. In the Edit Columns panel:

    • Select checkboxes for columns you want to show.

    • Clear checkboxes for columns you want to hide.

  3. (If supported) drag and drop columns within the panel to change their order.

  4. Apply your changes to refresh the Payments table.

Use Restore Default (if available) to return to the standard column layout.

4. Export Payments

Use Export to download payment data for offline analysis, sharing, or reconciliation.

How to export payments:

  1. On the Payments page, apply any search and filter criteria you need.

  2. Click the Export (download) icon on the toolbar.

  3. Confirm the export (typically CSV).

  4. Save the exported file to your computer.

The export generally includes the payments visible in your current (filtered) view and respects your active column configuration.


5. Currency Toggle (Base vs Foreign)

Use the Currency toggle to control how monetary values are displayed on the Payments page.

How to use the currency toggle:

  1. On the Payments toolbar, locate the Currency control with Base and Foreign options.

  2. Click Base to show amounts (for example, Amount, Amount Applied, Amount Unapplied) in your organization’s base currency.

  3. Click Foreign to show the same fields in the payment’s original transaction currency.

  4. The selection applies to all monetary columns in the Payments list.

Tip: Use Base for consolidated reporting across entities, and Foreign when reconciling to bank statements or ERP transactions in the original currency.
