Edit Team

Purpose

Use the Edit Team dialog to update an existing Helpdesk team. You can change the team’s name and description, update the team manager, adjust the default Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) role, and add or remove team members.

This article explains how to open the Edit Team dialog and describes each editable field.

Open the Edit Team dialog

  1. Open Team Management.
For steps, see Navigating to Team Management.

  2. On the Active Teams or Deactivated Teams tab, locate the team you want to edit.
You can use search or filters to find the team.

  3. In the team’s row, in the Actions column, click the Edit (pencil) icon.

    The Edit Team dialog opens.

Edit team details

In the Edit Team dialog, you can change the following information:

  1. Review the existing team details.

  2. Update fields as needed:

    • Team Name:
Enter a unique, descriptive name for the team.

      • The name must not duplicate any existing team name.

    • Description:
Update or add a short description of the team’s purpose, region, or scope.

    • Team Manager:
Select one or more users to assign as team managers, or update the current selection.

      • To remove a manager, clear the current value or remove the user from the field.

    • Default RBAC Role:
Select a default RBAC role for the team. This role defines the baseline permissions that all team members inherit from the team.

    • Team Members:
You can add or remove members:

      • To add a member, click Add Team Member, search for a user, and select them from the list.

      • To remove a member, click the trash bin icon next to the user’s entry.

  3. Click Save to apply your changes; click Cancel to exit without saving.

Notes

Note 1: Team names must be unique. Attempting to change a team’s name to one that already exists results in an error, and the change is not saved.

Note 2: You can edit team members at any time. Users you add inherit the team’s default RBAC role; users you remove are no longer listed as members of that team.
